Greetings RCS Family,
I hope this note finds you all healthy and doing well. I am excited to introduce myself as the new building principal at Resurrection Catholic School. I am very honored to be involved in continuing to help educate our students in their path of Catholic Faith, family, service, tradition and strong academics.
I have been in education for the past 33 years at the elementary, middle and high school levels. My first experience in education was at Tipton Catholic High School in Tipton, KS as PE/health teacher and coach. From Tipton, I moved to the KC Metro area and worked for Bonner Springs School District as a PE/health teacher, district activities director and coach. I then moved into administration working for Turner High School and Middle School as an assistant principal and district activities director. My most recent experience has been at Basehor-Linwood School District as an assistant middle school principal and intermediate building principal.
My wife Nancy and I live in Basehor, Kansas where we are members of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor and also attend St. Francis Catholic Church in Lansing. We have two amazing daughters, Katie, who lives in Orlando, FL and works for John Deere and Harley, who will be a freshman at Baker University in Baldwin, KS this year. Nancy is also an educator and has taught English at Bonner Springs High School for 35 years. Over the past years most of our time has been spent supporting our daughters in their athletic events. When I am not attending one of my daughters' events, I also enjoy fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and being with family/friends.
I am very excited to meet the Resurrection staff, students and community. I look forward to being a part of this amazing family and a great year of faith based education at Resurrection.
Blessings,
Garold Baker
RCS Principal
